Vanessa Ng

In 1996 Vanessa Ng graduated as a Registered
Nurse from the Queensland University of Technology (QUT). Vanessa
began working at the Royal Brisbane Hospital, where she moved throughout
the Medical and Surgical Divisions specialising in areas such as
Infectious Diseases, Rheumatology, Dermatology, and Vascular. During
this time an interest for caring for the lower limb began. In 1999
whilst still working as a Registered Nurse Vanessa began her second
degree at QUT studying Podiatry.
Upon completion of her studies, Vanessa undertook
employment with one of her university lecturers at Carmichael &
Short Podiatrist. Whilst at Carmichael and Short Vanessa has cared
for clients with conditions from simple corn removal to complicated
diabetic ulceration. In 2005 Vanessa secured the position of consulting
podiatrist with the Queensland Diabetes Centre at the Mater Hospital
whilst concurrently working at Carmichael and Short. In this position
Vanessa has had many opportunities to educate about Diabetes and
foot complications. Vanessa’s interest in Diabetic care has
evolved from personal experience with a family history of Diabetes.
In 2006 Vanessa completed a course in lower
limb acupuncture. Vanessa has incorporated this into practice and
now offers an alternative therapy within podiatric treatments. Vanessa
delivers a holistic customer focused service with an emphasis on
quality care.
Specialisation:
Vanessa's area of specialisation
is in Diabetic foot conditions.

* Sports - running injuries, including sesamoiditis,
achilles heel and ankle pain, Shin pain, atheltes foot, heel pain,
biomechanical muscular strains, running and walking pains

* High Risk Foot care - Specialised treatent
for those who have a lowered immune response such as diabetes, rheumatoid
arthritis or cancer patients
Dr. Melanie O'Shea
BA (Psych), Grad Dip Sci (Psych),
MPsych (Clin), PhD (Phych) MAPS, DIPP

Dr Melanie O’Shea is an experienced clinical
psychologist (MPsych), who has also completed a Doctor of Philosophy
(PhD) in psychology. She is a published author and researcher on
effects of cannabis and has a special interest in treating individuals
experiencing alcohol and other drug addiction and dependence. She
is a regular presenter at international conferences and national
radio interviews. She has experience in university, government,
and private organisational settings, and is currently in private
practice on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland.
Specialisation:
Melanie’s primary specialty is the treatment of individuals
dependent on cannabis. Her PhD thesis on this topic was titled “the
lasting neurobehavioural effects of cannabis exposure: a comparison
of perinatal, adolescent, and early adult exposure”. This
research on this topic has attracted both national and international
press, and has resulted in scientific publications on the consequences
of cannabis exposure.
